Live-In and Extended Support
Longer Support for More Complex Daily Routines
Some families need more than a short visit. One Companion & Homemakers offers consultation-based extended-hour and live-in support for clients who benefit from longer periods of companionship, homemaking assistance, routine support, and family caregiver relief.
Because every home and schedule is different, extended support begins with a detailed conversation. We review the client’s routines, requested duties, sleep and break arrangements, mobility, household expectations, safety considerations, and the level of support required.
Extended Support May Include
- Companionship throughout the day
- Meal preparation and kitchen cleanup
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Routine reminders and daily organization
- Planned errands and transportation
- Support with hobbies and preferred activities
- Evening reassurance and preparation for the next day
- Communication with authorized family contacts
What “Live-In” Means
Live-in support is not the same as continuous awake care. Appropriate sleeping accommodations, uninterrupted rest periods, working conditions, and scheduling expectations must be established in advance. If a client requires frequent overnight assistance, continuous observation, complex hands-on care, or clinical monitoring, another care arrangement may be necessary.
Care Planning Comes First
We do not confirm live-in or extended support from an online request alone. A consultation is required to review service fit, the home environment, scheduling, responsibilities, and availability. Plans may be adjusted as needs change.
Non-Medical Service Boundary
Our extended support remains non-medical. It does not replace skilled home health care, nursing, emergency services, or other licensed clinical care.
